Es mundialmente conocido por haber colaborado con artistas de la talla de Phil Collins, Tina Turner, Luciano Pavarotti y hasta los Backstreet Boys. Este lunes fue homenajeado por el municipio en un encuentro en el Hurlingham Club, donde, emocionado, el m\u00fasico toc\u00f3 su \u00e9xito \u00abShape of My Heart\u00bb y afirm\u00f3: “Es un sue\u00f1o hecho realidad ser m\u00fasico y empez\u00f3 ac\u00e1 en Hurlingham. Con mis hermanos y mi padre siempre tocando m\u00fasica en la casa”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En una ceremonia emotiva, el Municipio de Hurlingham entreg\u00f3 una distinci\u00f3n a Dominic Miller como personalidad destacada de la cultura por su aporte a la m\u00fasica. Nacido en Hurlingham en 1960, Miller es el guitarrista principal de Sting, con quien toca desde hace 35 a\u00f1os, y con qui\u00e9n compuso muchos cl\u00e1sicos, como la balada \u00abShape of My Heart\u00bb. En el homenaje, que se dio en el marco del programa Ciudad Rock, estuvo presente el intendente Dami\u00e1n Selci, Fernando Kelly, miembros del Hurlingham Club y amigos de Dominic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Orgulloso de ser de Hurlingham y de ser argentino. Siempre hay una parte de Argentina y de Hurlingham que va conmigo a todos lados”, expres\u00f3 el m\u00fasico, compositor fundamental de la m\u00fasica contempor\u00e1nea. Su casa de la infancia en O’Higgins 1030, estar\u00e1 se\u00f1alizada (en el marco del programa Ciudad Rock) para que todos los vecinos que pasen por ah\u00ed tengan presente su historia.<\/p>\n\n\n

Los Miller eran una familia inglesa, muy activa culturalmente y socios del Hurlingham Club. El padre de Dominic, tambi\u00e9n distinguido por el Municipio, fue un actor y m\u00fasico aficionado. En 1971, la familia se mud\u00f3 a EEUU y Dominic comenz\u00f3 a estudiar m\u00fasica en la c\u00e9lebre Academia Berklee. Su trayectoria estelar comenz\u00f3 participando en el disco But Seriously de Phil Collins y poco despu\u00e9s pas\u00f3 a ser uno de los sesionistas y colaboradores m\u00e1s prol\u00edficos, con actuaciones junto a grandes artistas que van desde Luciano Pavarotti hasta los Backstreet Boys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El nuevo programa Ciudad Rock consiste en la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de los puntos de la ciudad que fueron importantes para la historia del rock nacional.
